Land Clearing and Grubbing
Land Clearing and Grubbing in Waco
Before a wooded or overgrown parcel can be graded, it has to be opened up. Ambrozia-avl removes trees, brush, and undergrowth, then grubs the stumps and roots below the surface so nothing is left to rot and settle later. Cleared material is hauled off or mulched on site, depending on what you want and what the SWPPP allows. A recent job out toward China Spring ran heavy with mature tree cover, while a brush-only lot near New Road cleared in a single day.
Why Grubbing Below Grade Matters
- No buried voids. Leaving stumps and roots in place creates soft spots that undermine a pad or driveway once they decay.
- A true subgrade. Grubbing gives the grading crew clean, gradeable ground to strip topsoil and shape to plan.
- Erosion control. We set silt fence and inlet protection as we clear, keeping sediment on site to meet stormwater rules.
Our Process
We walk the parcel, flag any trees to save, and confirm the 811 locate before the mulching head or excavator starts. A skid steer with a mulcher handles light brush, while a crawler dozer and excavator take on heavy timber and stump grubbing. We keep the cleared material managed so the site stays workable for the next phase.
